The Route of the Infection

Posted on 19 October 2009 by A. Survivor

At 5:00 PM October 24th, Waterville NY will become infected with the living dead. Our festering corpses shall spill forth into the streets of Waterville beginning at the registration point and then head North on Main street, crossing over a couple streets, then heading North again on Stafford Avenue until we reach East Bacon Street. Here we will cross over to West Bacon and then proceed South down Stafford Ave. back the way we came all the way down Main Street until we reach our final location at Stinkers for the After Party.

If you like please feel free to bring your make up with you and help others that may be less prepared than you.

SPREAD THE DEAD!

New Starting location announced.

Posted on 19 October 2009 by A. Survivor

Well we’ve got a new starting location and probably a better one than we orginally had anyway. We will be starting Registration and Food collection in the parking lot behind the Waterville Family Medical Center, across the street from Stinkers Tavern. Located at 117 W Main Street in Waterville.

We will still be starting Registration at 4 with the walk beginning at 5 PM on October 24th.  Check our map below… FYI: West Main Street is Rt 12.

UF Emergency plan for Zombies

Posted on 15 October 2009 by A. Survivor

For those of you who may not have seen the headlines regarding the University of Florida’s Emergency plans I thought I’d give you the info.

Aside from taking Hurricanes, Floods and other such common disasters into account in their Emergency plan; it seems UF had also taken a Zombie outbreak into account and had made provisions therein on how to survive and what to do if such an event was to occur on campus. Unfortunately for us, this portion of the plan has since been removed from their site and is no longer available to read. To bad, I would have liked to have read that one.

So check out the full article from NBC HERE

Then share your thoughts with us below in the comments.

Starting Location will be changing.

Posted on 14 October 2009 by A. Survivor

Well we should have known it was to good to be true. So far this entire event has come flowing together nicely but today we encountered our first bump in the road. More like a ditch than a bump actually. But we’re going to lumber past it anyway with a shuffle and drag. Continue Reading

Four Stage Blood Recipes (cheap)

Posted on 09 October 2009 by A. Survivor

Blood, why do we love it? Why do we feel like we need to be covered in it every Halloween? Is it because there’s something wrong with us on some odd underlying subconscious level? Nah! It’s just fun!

That’s right! Sanguine or Blood as you and I would refer to it is not only what us humans have, but its what the undead crave. They need it, so if we are going to portray them, then we need it too! Sure it’s also fun to hear those tasty screams of terror, when some unsuspecting viewer catches a glimpse of you covered in the shiny red life liquid.  So in this article we’re going to provide a few good-ole home-made blood recipes for you. The Dancing Dead? Or…

Posted on 06 October 2009 by A. Survivor

Well boys and ghouls (is that to cliche? oh well) another day closer to the walk and I’ve got great news. We’ve obtained two more awesome features for the Walk. But I think they both deserve their own entry. So for our first bit of news; lets talk about this the after party. As we all know, the walk will begin at the Memorial Park Elementary school and end at Stinkers Tavern, where we will all have the opportunity to have some drinks and good times, but really what does every party need?

Music!

And thats what we’ve got. Beginning at 7:00, shortly after the walk concludes the floor will be “alive” with The Ward. There’s nothing like a bunch of dead folk flailing around to some great music!

The walk lumbers on…

Posted on 05 October 2009 by A. Survivor

Slowly the impending day approaches. Lurching forward and still soo much to do. When you’re so excited about something it’s hard to hold back the details from other people that are excited with you. Finally today I was able to meet with the Waterville Village Board and discuss the walk with them. It was a little akward, truth be told. A panel of people; who with a single vote could destroy the walk that we’ve put so much work into thus far. Continue Reading

Our Walk Logo

Posted on 04 October 2009 by A. Survivor

It is with great pleasure, and humble thanks that I present to you all the logo for our walk. I scoured the intenet for zombie artwork, waiting until something really caught my eye, after hours of searching between myself and Mrs Survivor we’ve finally located the piece that we decided to use for our first annual zombie walk. I contacted the artist immediately and told them of our event and graciously donated the work to our cause. So we’d like to give many many thanks to O’Ryan Rudis for his donation of this fantastic work.

So withouth further adieu a peak at the new logo for our flyers and signs. Continue Reading
