Slowly the impending day approaches. Lurching forward and still soo much to do. When you’re so excited about something it’s hard to hold back the details from other people that are excited with you. Finally today I was able to meet with the Waterville Village Board and discuss the walk with them. It was a little akward, truth be told. A panel of people; who with a single vote could destroy the walk that we’ve put so much work into thus far.
Sitting there through official business, which I had no idea about, awaiting the time that they opened the floor for public discussions was a bit unnerving. But not as unnerving as standing up and saying “Hello. My name is Frank, and I would like to have a bunch of people dress up like zombies and walk through town“. Surprisingly the laughter I had expected did not ensue as I continued on to explain that we would be taking donations from participants for the local food pantry prior to the walk. Apparently the Mayor had already spoken to them about the walk, and one of the members (whose name I unfortunately did not catch) had heard about the walk on the local radion station 96.9′s morning talk show Gomez and Dave. I had emailed them on Friday regarding the walk, wish I had been listening when they spoke about it. Oh well.
So now, the times for the walk ok good to go. Now the only thing I have left to do is secure approval for the municipal buildings meeting room for a special guest speaker who wil be presenting prior to Registration. Once I have this secured I will complete the fliers information and get a rush order on the printing, send out event invitations to the facebook group and order our makeup!
