So, what is a Zombie Walk?
(from wikipedia)
A zombie walk (also known as a zombie mob, zombie march, zombie horde, zombie lurch, zombie shamble, zombie shuffle or zombie pub crawl) is an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban centre, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping their way towards a local cemetery or other public space (a series of taverns in the case of a zombie pub crawl).
Does it cost anything to participate?
No, but we are asking that every participant bring at least one non-perishable food item as a donation to the local Waterville Food pantry.
Do I have to wear a costume?
Yep! Unless you already look like a zombie.
You don’t necessarily have to come as a certain character [i.e., doctor, mechanic, etc.] but you should at least look like a zombie, even if you wear jeans and a T-shirt and just go nuts with the fake blood. For simple suggestions of things to do to look ZOMBIFIED, check out this web site! Wanna take it a step further than simple? Then proceed with caution to this web site instead. Or watch the videos and read the how to articles that we have compiled on upstateundead.com
Is this an ’18 & over’ or ’21 & over’ event?
Nope! (again, if it is, we’ll let everyone know in advance) Come one, come all! Though if you are bringing children to the walk, don’t think you can drop them off and consider this your afternoon break. Get your decaying posterior into some zombie attire and join them in the fun!
Besides….
How long will the walk be? I’m a lazy zombie!
Walks usually last around a half hour to 45 minutes, but that’s not in human walking time, so it’s half the distance of a human walk.. therefore equaling a 15 – 22.5 minute human walk.
Route info will be provided to zombies upon his or her arrival!
How can I help out with the Zombie Walk?
We currently need help getting the word out about the walk. You can help by telling your fellow zombie friends, passing out flyers or sponsoring us.
How can I help the Zombie Walk?
If you have fake limbs, brains, or any other horror oddities you would like to donate for zombie prizes please email infected@upstateundead.com.
The Waterville Zombie Walk is a non-profit event. We have a gang of the undead helping out with their time, but we do need money for fliers and posters, as well as keeping the web site running. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
